Mr Stanilov is a GMC Specialist Registered Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), and Professor of Surgery with over 21 years of surgical experience, including more than 15 years dedicated to breast surgery, and has served as an NHS consultant since 2019. He is currently working as a Consultant at the Cambridge Breast Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, alongside his ongoing clinical and academic commitments, contributing to specialist breast care within one of the UK’s leading centres for breast surgery. His academic work includes more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in tumour biology and cancer genetics, reflecting a sustained contribution to surgical research, innovation, and clinical practice. He combines advanced surgical oncology with refined reconstructive techniques, delivering outcomes that prioritise both oncological safety and aesthetic precision. RECOGNISED FOR PATIENT-CENTRED BREAST CARE Mr Stanilov received the University College London Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre Staff Excellence Award in 2017, based on patient and staff feedback in a one-stop symptomatic breast assessment service. He was also a finalist in the Health Service Journal Performance Recovery category in 2023 for his contribution to breast care service improvement. Specialising in complex oncoplastic breast surgery and implant-based breast reconstruction, Mr Stanilov is committed to meticulous surgical standards, evidence-based practice, and patient-centred care. His approach integrates oncological excellence with aesthetic outcomes, ensuring patients receive treatment that is both clinically robust and individually tailored. He completed his Medical Doctor (MD) degree at Trakia University Medical Faculty, Bulgaria, in 2003, followed by specialist training in General Surgery in 2010. His career has been defined by continuous advancement in surgical technique, academic leadership, clinical innovation, and the training of future surgeons.
